Visit Sweden’s first cultural reserve

Welcome to Åsens By

– the village where time stopped

In Åsens By you can travel back to the year 1900 to see what life in the Småland countryside was like then.

Here, you can wander around on your own, stay overnight or take part in various activities and experience horse-powered farming, farm work and household chores of the past. As in times gone by, the food on the table is determined by the season and the availability of local produce, and during the summer months, native Swedish breeds graze in the old cultural landscape.
